The Shift Theatre presents
THE GIRLS IN GREY
By Carolyn Bock and Helen Hopkins
Shortlisted for the National Play Festival and included on the VCE Drama Curriculum for 2012, The Girls In Grey is set within the vast landscape of World War one. Three Australian Nurses leave for the front to prove their worth and find adventure. There they experience the tragedy of a war that irrevocably changes the world.
In a story woven from eyewitness accounts, comes a poetic and stark interpretation of commitment and courage. Brought to the stage by some of Melbourne’s finest theatre practitioners and lauded by historians as deeply authentic and moving, this inspirational work brings the voices of the nurses into the interpretive world of theatre, in a vivid and candid retelling of life on active service.
