Catherine Hill – Director
Catherine is a recipient of the Ewa Czajor Award for female directors and the Peter Summerton Award for directing. Her directing credits include The Two Character Play by Tennessee Williams and Caryl Churchill’s A Number for Winterfall Theatre, An Evening with Richard Frankland for the Sydney Opera House and Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the first productions and national tours of Elizabeth Coleman’s Secret Bridesmaids’ Business and It’s My Party (And I’ll Die If I Want To), the national tour of Max Gillies Live at the Club Republic for Malcolm Cook and Associates. Calendar Girls by Tim Firth and Things We Do For Love by Alan Ayckbourn for Canberra Repertory Theatre and Homesick! by Abe Pogos. More recently Catherine has worked on the development of Abe’s new music theatre drama Burn For You. In 2017 Catherine wrote and directed her first feature film Some Happy Day which is now in post production.
Meg White – Designer
Meg White is an architect, set designer and performer. She has been creating designs and performing for more than 23 years. Meg’s recent theatre work includes; Poet #7 (Arts Centre Black Box), Waiting for Godot, The Madness of the Day, Third Person Other and Aphanisis (La Mama).Meg has been nominated for and been awarded several green room awards in the field of design. Nominations include; Body of work 1999; Krapp’s Last Tape; Paradise and Poet #7. Awards include Bauernhofand Mr Puntila and his man Matti.
Meg’s architectural works include several large multi residential, hotel and retail precincts; Upper West Side (completed), The Fifth (completed) West Side Place (under construction). The Upper West Side development received a commendation in the urban design category of the Victorian Architecture Awards 2017.
Richard Vabre – Lighting Designer
Richard Vabre is a freelance lighting designer who has lit productions for MTC, STC, Malthouse Theatre, Belvoir Street, Black Swan State Theatre Company, Victorian Opera, Windmill Theatre, Arena Theatre Company, NICA, The Darwin Festival, Stuck Pig’s Squealing, Chambermade, Rawcus, Red Stitch, Polyglot, Melbourne Worker’s Theatre, Aphids and many many productions at La Mama. Awards: Richard has won 5 Green Room Awards including the Association’s John Truscott Prize for Excellence in Design (2004). He has also been nominated for 8 other Green Room Awards.
